During the Men’s Retreat, Elder Erik Marechal led the men in an appreciation for the ministry of Dr. Bill Cain. Bill was presented with a cornerstone with an engraved plaque that read:

Then this verse from Isaiah 28:
See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a chosen and precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.

Bill initially came to First Presbyterian Church as a transitional pastor after senior pastor Dr. Barry Jenkins retired in 2017. After Bill’s retirement as transitional pastor moved him to Texas, he and Jill moved back to Florence. Since then, Bill served as associate pastor and developed the men’s ministry. The past several years, he has led a high school boys Bible study class, small groups, and the annual Men’s Retreat.
