WHAT TO EXPECT
Visiting a new church can be a little daunting in figuring out where to go and how to make the most of your visit. We hope to make it as easy for you as possible!
Everything that happens at First Presbyterian’s worship services is guided by our Worship Values, but here a some frequently asked questions.
Where should I park?
Parking is available in a couple lots around the church building. Lots are accessible coming onto campus from Park Avenue and Cherookee Road.
What should I wear to Sunday services?
Dress in what is comfortable to you. While some will be in coat-and-tie or dress, other will be in something more casual. We do request you wear a face mask during this pandemic season.
What are your services like?
Our worship services bring together music and liturgical resources from our Reformed heritage as well as contemporary worship practices. During the Contemporary Worship Service, you can expect praise songs led by the Praise Team, piano, guitar, and drums. During the Traditional Worship Service, you can expect more traditional church songs and hymns, led by piano and organ.
How will I fit in at First Presbyterian?
We are a multi-generational church desiring to create a hospitable place of belonging for every person. We hope it’s a place where you can encounter God, build community, and take part in God’s great work.
Where should a visitor go once at the church buildings?
At the main entrances of the church sanctuary, you should be greeted by people standing near those entrances. They can assist you in finding your way around the building, location of Sunday school classes, and finding a seat for the service. A nursery is provided for 2K children and younger.
Where do I go with my children?
We encourage families to bring their children into worship so they can learn about worship by participating in it. During our regular schedule, we do offer childcare during the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services for children in 2K and younger. A nursery is provided for 2K children and below. First Presbyterian also holds Sunday school during the school year at 10 a.m.
