Children’s Ministry
SUNDAYS
Worship Services are at 9 a.m. for Contemporary and 11 a.m. for Traditional (During the summer months we hold a 10 a.m. combined service).
Nursery Services
During worship and Sunday School, nursery services are available for children 2 years old and younger.
Message for Young Disciples
Early in our worship service, we are pleased to offer a special time called the Message for Young Disciples, led by one of our dedicated Children’s Ministry
directors. We kindly invite all of the children to join us at the front for this engaging moment. This part of our service is crafted to communicate the day’s
sermon in a way that is both accessible and enjoyable for children. Designed to be concise, it typically spans 3 to 5 minutes and concludes with a brief prayer.
Children in Worship
Following the Message for Young Disciples, we invite children in 3K-5K to proceed with a worship caregiver to the Children in Worship. This enriching program, designed specifically for them, aims to teach children about worship and provide them with the opportunity to engage with Bible stories in their own unique worship space. Parents, please remember to collect your children from Children in Worship at the conclusion of the service.
Sunday School
During the school year, Sunday School starts at 10 a.m.
The Gospel Project, a resource our ministry uses, is a Christ-centered Bible study that follows a chronological timeline of Bible events. Children 3K-6th grade all participate in the Gospel Project on Sundays and Wednesdays. The 2K and 3K Sunday School class go through times of play and Bible study that are appropriate for their age.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS
This semester the children will look at what it means to be a disciple of Christ and to follow Him faithfully.
All 3K – 5th grade children are invited to join us.
THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Basketball League: Children and youth ages 6 and older can participate in the basketball league during winter. Games are held with other area churches.
Easter Egg Hunt: This is an exciting time off campus for all ages as sixth-graders hide the eggs for the children, and there are games, fellowship and great food. Living Nativity: A live, short retelling of the Christmas story by the sixth-graders, angel choir with music, and live animals.
Summertime Fun: Our summer schedule consists of weekly times together, ranging from on-campus learning to field trip adventures.
On Treasured Tuesdays, completed 3K-5K get together.
On Wonderful Wednesdays, completed first- and second-graders meet up.
And on Thundering Thursdays, third- through fifth-graders combine for fun-filled times.
Vacation Bible School: Bible stories, crafts and games that remind children of God’s amazing love for them and encourages them to share that love with
the world.
WinShape Camps for Communities: On the campus of First Presbyterian, the camp provides an unprecedented weeklong summer day camp experience for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
