DON HEBERT

CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR

843-662-2583 |

Responsibilities at FPC – I am responsible for the day-to-day business operations of First Presbyterian Church (supervising our administrative support staff and custodial staff, facilities use and maintenance). I provide leadership and support to several of our church committees. I also administer our church benevolence funds used to assist the under-served population of our community with basic needs.

Family – I am married to Vicki, who is a native of Florence. We were married in 2018. Between us we have 5 adult children, an adorable granddaughter who is full of life and energy, and 2 dogs.

Favorite Books – Short ones. Just kidding! While reading is not one of my favorite past-times, I do enjoy a good book on vacation.  I have read and enjoyed books by John Grisham, Pat Conroy, David Baldacci and Lee Child. Additionally, I enjoy the writings of Max Lucado and Phillip Yancey. A devotional guide that I have found very helpful is “Seeking God’s Face,” which was introduced to me by our Associate Pastor, Chris Handley.

Hobbies – Watching college sports, primarily football and basketball (particularly the Gamecocks). I enjoy travelling to the beach and the mountains. While not really a hobby, volunteering is important to me. I volunteer with the Good News Club at Royall Elementary School working with 2nd & 3rd graders. Additionally, I enjoy music and sing in the FPC Sanctuary Choir and the Florence Men’s Choral Society.  I also enjoy hunting and fishing when I have the opportunity.

Why are you excited to be part of FPC – From my first time attending worship here in March 2014, I knew that there was something special about FPC. It is exciting to see God at work in the lives of our covenant partners (members) to bring about change in our church and community. It is a joy to work with a staff that is intentional about growing in our relationship with one another and more importantly with God.
