Spring Celebration to highlight ministry, Life Service Award

The Women in Ministry invites the women of the church to the time-honored tradition of celebrating faith, friendships, and ministry, including the Life Service Award Recipient. Bring a salad to share at the Spring Celebration Dinner that will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, with guest speaker Julie Knox with Operation Mobilisation.

The international mission movement Operation Mobilisation (OM) was started almost 70 years ago by three American students who were passionate that everyone in the world should have the opportunity to hear the gospel at least once. OM now has more than 5,000 workers representing over 130 nationalities engaged in a range of creative ministries, including from two ocean-going ships — which are supplied with Christian literature from a base in Florence.

OM’s mission is to see vibrant communities of Jesus-followers among the least reached. Communicating that to global partners and supporting volunteer storytellers is Julie Knox, a former journalist for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) whom God called to leave her career as a war reporter to bring the news of how He is at work around the world.

Women in Ministry

The Women in Ministry of the First Presbyterian Church is an inclusive, caring, loving community of women. WiM’s aim is to strengthen our relationship with God and build each other up in the body of Christ.

Through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship, we are nurtured and empowered to be His light to our families, our church, and the world.  We are passionate about Jesus.  If you are not involved in a circle, please, please come and join in for Christian fellowship and Bible study.  We have a place for you!  The eight women’s circles meet at various times and places throughout the second week of each month from September through May.
